Shira Frost Roth, Ed.D.
Dr. Roth is the chairperson of the Department of Education at the Sarah Hartman Women's College of Touro where she supports instructors, advises students, provides professional development to area schools, and teaches several courses. She received her doctorate degree in Reading and Language from National Louis University. Her master's and bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Literacy are from Northeastern Illinois University. Shira is the author of numerous journal articles and three professional books: Two Books are Better than One (2016, Capstone), Rethinking Intervention: Supporting Struggling Readers in the Regular Classroom (2013, Choice Literacy), and a collection of literacy coaching tools (co‑authored with Roberta Buhle and Camille Blachowicz) titled Effective Literacy Coaching: Building Expertise and a Culture of Literacy (2009, ASCD). She has also given a myriad of conference presentations, many of them invited.
