Student Life & Advisement
The Rabbeim, deans, professors and instructors at HTC motivate and nurture each student. The faculty enthusiastically builds and nurtures the unique talents of each student.
Career Counseling & Advisement
All students and alumni are eligible to receive career counseling through a joint program with Jewish Vocational Services, as well as individualized coaching through a professional guidance counselor on campus. In addition to academic advisors who guide a student in fulfilling requirements for graduation and admission to graduate study, career services at HTC provide guidance in preparing a resume, clarifying career goals and approaches to job placement, coaching for job interviews, and placement in part-time and full-time internships. The counselors assist students in registering for placement examinations, evaluating various graduate schools, and compiling a portfolio of recommendations and work samples.
Community
HTC is fortunate to be located in a warm and vibrant Jewish community with numerous shuls, schools, organizations and kosher establishments. Over the course of their time at HTC, students become enmeshed in the community, staying with local families for Shabbos and spending time in the Jewish area. It’s not uncommon for students to remain in the Chicago area after completing their studies at HTC to attend graduate school or to pursue a career, all while building families in the community they have grown to love.
Dorms
Students who choose to live on campus reside in a beautifully renovated dormitory, which features spacious rooms with built-in closets, desks, private bathrooms and a laundry room.
Student Activities & Organizations
Students are involved in myriad chesed opportunities in the Chicago community, including volunteering for organizations such as Chai Lifeline and Yachad. Additionally, students can take advantage of the variety of on-campus leisure facilities, including a full-size gymnasium, outdoor basketball court, football and softball fields and fitness center.
